Resource Sharing Professional Development - Interlibrary Loan Billing
June 2, 20261:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Join Tenn-Share's Resource Sharing Committee for Interlibrary Loan Billing, a practical presentation on the ins and outs of interlibrary loan billing, from lost and damaged materials to invoices, overdue processes, Expak claims, and best practices for working with borrowing and lending libraries. Amanda Dembiec of Nashville Public Library and Nora Ketron of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Library will share real-world experience, helpful guidance, and lessons learned to make this sometimes tricky topic easier to navigate. Whether you’re new to ILL billing or looking to refine your workflow, this session will offer useful strategies, policy context, and time for questions and discussion.
This session will be held Tuesday, 6/2/26 at 1pm CT / 2pm ET, and recorded and sent to registrants. You can register here, and we will send a calendar event with a zoom link a day before the event.
The Digital Library of TN Committee invites you to our next Digital Collections Interest Group meeting on Monday, 6/15/26 at 1pm CT / 2pm ET. This group meets quarterly and explores topics of interest for those working in digital collections or folks who have an interest in learning more about the creation, use, and promotion of these resources.
In June we will have have two community members sharing about their work. Megan Atkinson from Tennessee Tech will be presenting "A Case for Good: Practical Decision-Making in Tech’s Digital Collections" where she will share about the selection of "good" practices in lieu of "best" practices in an academic setting with limited employees, IT, and monetary support. Our second presenter will be Veronica Sales will be giving a mini-recap of her Practicum, "Building Out Omeka with Nashville Queer History". Sales partnered with Nashville Queer History, a grassroots community organization dedicated to preserving the LGBTQ+ history of Nashville and Middle Tennessee, to build out their digital library collection within an Omeka plug-in. The digital collection is comprised of publication scans and photograph files held by other repositories. This presentation will provide an overview of the metadata creation and bulk upload processes. Registration is here - https://forms.gle/hptpKH44KwsZ4EUZ9
